Therapy

I work with individuals, families, couples, adults and adolescents.  My clinical services include individual psychotherapy, couples’ counseling, family therapy, and group psychotherapy.

My approach to treatment is based on the particular needs and the unique situation of each individual case.  My treatment approach is psychodynamic, and I use a variety of additional modalities for enhancing change in individual and couples. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Prolonged Exposure for reducing symptoms related to specific past traumatic experiences, in the Imago Dialogue for working with couples; in IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy) which has been recognized by the World Health Organization as one of the evidence-based therapies for depression and other disorders, and I am currently training in EMDR.

Issues that I treat include, but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Marital issues: marital preparedness, marital relationship problems
  • Divorce related issues
  • Restructuring life after divorce
  • Parenting issues
  • Parenting the special needs child
  • Loss and grief
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, acute or long-term
  • Effects of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress on family members and family relationships
  • Adjustment to life transitions including, for example, childbirth, relocation, job loss, and issues related to immigration

As a trauma expert, I also provide on-site trauma intervention for Employee Assistance Programs for businesses and companies.

As a member of a crisis-intervention team I provide on-site services when called to assist in a critical incident.
